The Greater Norfolk Medical Society of South Hampton Roads was named the recipient of the “Small Local Society Award of 2025”. Specific criteria were outlined and met by the society. An integral part of our selection to receive the award was the “Passport to Good Health” program developed and implemented by our society members. This program was made possible by a $100,000 grant from Sentara Health System.

“Speed Interviewing”

April 1, 2025

This activity was hosted by the medical society in collaboration with the Student National Medical Association (SNMA) Chapter at EVMS.

As in the past years, the medical students were able to interact with minority physicians representing multiple specialties. The goals of this event were to help the medical students sharpen their interviewing skills, to connect with the medical professionals that gave constructive feedback, and networking. Both physicians and medical students in attendance were glad the they were able to connect after having to cancel this event twice due to weather. They all had an amazing time sharing stories and learning about each other.
