Currently the society is participating in two scholarship programs
1. Joseph D. Cauthen, Jr. M.D. Memorial Scholarship Fund
On an annual basis the medical Society provides scholarship awards to a student attending Howard University. This scholarship is named the Joseph D. Cauthen, Jr. M.D. Memorial award in memory of one of our deceased members. He attended Howard University and graduated in the class of 1957.
2. Eastern Virginia Medical School at Macon and Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences of Old Dominion University Scholarship Fund
This scholarship is awarded to one or two minority medical students at Eastern Virginia Medical School on an annual basis.
